Government Considering To Build Postal Museum
The government is considering to build a postal museum in the move to preserve Malaysian stamps as part of the country’s heritage. Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Datuk Jailani Johari said the establishment of the museum, hopefully, would spur interest among youths in collecting stamps, and along the way a love for arts, culture and heritage which were embodied in the postage stamps.
“Nations have issued hundreds of thousands of postage stamps since 1840 and this kind of heritage will be displayed at the Postal Museum in future.”
Jailani said this after launching the Kuala Lumpur World Youth Stamp Exhibition (KLwyse) 2014 and 29th Asian International Stamp Exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), here, today.
