Sambutan Ulang Tahun Kemerdekaan KE-57 57th Independence Celebration 1957-2014_1

2014 is a trying year for Malaysia, as we are faced with many trials and challenges that have tested the spirit, resilience and determination of our people. Rising above adversity, we stand united as one, sharing empathy, solace, compassion and friendship for our compatriots and for the rest of the world … for this is Malaysia, where love grows.

Hari Merdeka (Independence Day) is a national day of Malaysia commemorating the independence of the Federation of Malaya from British colonial rule in 1957, celebreated on 31 August each year. This should not be confused with Hari Malaysia (Malaysia Day) when Malaysia was formed on 16 September 1963 together by Federation of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawal and Singapore (Wikipedia)

In the perilous journey towards Merdeka which the country has paved to achieve and safeguard its independence for generations, has proven time and again, the relentless spirit, inspiring loyalty and undying love of all Malaysians for their beloved nation. Irrespective of colour, religion and race, we come together as one nation, to celebrate the peace and progress which all Malaysians have aspired, sacrificed and strived hard for.

Selamat Hari Merdeka
